Glenn Farrell joined the TerraLogix team as CFO in the summer of 2013, after having spent nearly 35 years in public accounting. He was fortunate during his tenure with KPMG LLP to have been engaged by clients in a number of different industries and business practices, including waste management, alternative energy and commercial enterprises. As a CPA and Client Service Partner providing audit and assurance services to these companies, Glenn demonstrated wide-ranging expertise, including SEC reporting, business process analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. He was also a key member of the KPMG San Francisco management team, holding leadership positions that included Partner-in-Charge of the audit practice in Northern California.
Glenn earned his MBA in accounting and finance from UCLA, and received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Amherst College. Before joining KPMG (and shortly after marrying his college sweetheart), he played professional basketball in southwest France. Along with his wife, Tracey, Glenn raised three exceptional daughters in the Lafayette, California community, and they have recently been blessed with their first grandchild. Glenn enjoys golf, camping, traveling and hiking.
In Glenn's Own Words:
“The fascinating thing about joining an early-stage start-up is the energy, excitement and stimulating opportunity to participate with the incredible intellectual and experiential talents of the founders and early employees. Where I fit in is to bring financial discipline and perspective to the decision-making process, not only with respect to budgets and forecasts, but also when evaluating business concepts and market opportunities. Often, using a structured framework to support creative thinking can result in even greater things!
During my career in public accounting, I clearly had clients and industries I preferred engaging with—the ones that I enjoyed most had to do with energy production in a clean manner, and waste management with environmental concerns. One of those favorite clients was San Francisco’s waste services provider, and I was continuously impressed with their innovation and concern for sustainability in an industry that is about waste. TerraLogix brings a unique blend of that concern for the environment, and couples it with managing the increasing global issues in waste disposal, while providing creative agricultural solutions and carbon remediation.”
